As if I needed the Super Bowl as an excuse to throw a party. I love having friends and family come to our house.
But for my Super Bowl party, here’s the thing; we don’t actually watch the game. Aside from the National Anthem and the halftime show, we are all talking, eating and drinking. (best drink recipes ever)
I’m not a crafty, decorate my whole house and hang garland everywhere kind of gal. However, I still wanna have tons of fun and I want my guests to totally enjoy themselves too. But my friend Tammy makes decorations for every occasion. She has super cool crafting ideas for a Super Bowl photo booth.
Here’s my Super Bowl Party Ideas to help you and your guests have a blast!
1. Plan Your Menu
2. Alcohol or No
Let your guests know in advance if you’re allowing alcoholic beverages. Is it BYOB? What drinks are you providing? Water should always be made available.
3. To Decorate or Not
As I said earlier, I’m crafting challenged but go here to get the 411 on doing themed decorations. Otherwise, make sure everyone can get a seat in front of the TV.
4. Check Parking
It really helps out if you can make room in front of your house for guest vehicles. If you live somewhere with limited parking, give everyone a list of parking options. Make sure your address is clearly marked.
5. Game Day
Set out appetizers and drinks 15 mins before guests arrive. Have a trash can easily available. Kick back with your buddies and enjoy. Don’t forget if there are children to make arrangements for them if they get sleepy because the game will go past bedtimes!
6. Games to Play
There are several Super Bowl games you can play, but my favorite is the Football Board number grid. A grid is numbered from 0 – 9 horizontally and vertically. Everyone chooses a square and puts their name inside. Depending on the number or guests is how many squares they get. At the end of each quarter, the last number of the score of each team is the winning number. For example at the end of the first quarter if the score is 9 – 14, whoever is in the grid at 9 and 4 are both the winners. It doesn’t matter if it’s 14 – 9, the 4 and 9 square holders win. Here’s a printable just in case you want to play…click HERE.
A. If a guest has had too much to drink have them stay the night or call them a cab. Also, Check with Uber or Lyft for any discount promotions.
B. Party music can sometimes bother the neighbors especially in apartment living. Giving them advanced notice that you’re having a get-together and what time they can expect noise activity to stop is the courteous thing to do.
C. If you have pets, please be understanding of those with allergies and let your babies play in another part of the house.
D. Make arrangements for guests who smoke so there won’t be any unfortunate misunderstandings when they light up.
E. Stocking the guest bathroom with extra supplies such as several rolls of toilet paper, breath mints, feminine hygiene, air freshener and plenty of hand towels will help avoid bathroom mishaps.

Think back to the last time you were a guest and how much you appreciated the fellowship of a group of your buddies. It’s not about who has the cleanest house, most food or biggest TV, it’s having a few laughs with your friends. Plan your party using these Super Bowl party ideas and have fun 🙂
