Board games. That’s what I grew up playing with. We didn’t have Facebook, Pinterest or even the Internet. I played real games with real people.
Creating alliances and identifying the enemy was an average Monopoly game session at my house. Learning how to work together or strategize was made fun by playing a board game.
As times have changed, it seems everyone has their heads looking down into their hands as they surf their lives away on a cell phone. I count myself in this tragedy as well.
Here’s my challenge to you: find a board game, or any group activity, that your family and friends can play together that doesn’t involve cell phones. By doing this, you are fostering bonds with people… face-to-face.
That sounds old fashioned, but how often do you even talk with your friends without texting them?
Timberley and Andre Gray felt the exact same way. They felt strongly about bringing families back to the dinner table for family time. So they created a super cool book called The Game Ledger to help keep scores of the board games they were playing.
With their partnership, we’ve decided we want to help families get back together and start bonding over board games. The wonderful thing about this is: we aren’t alone.
When some of our fellow bloggers found out about our plan, they wanted to help too. So, in collaboration, 9 of us are hosting this giveaway to our readers.
On Thursday, December 15th at 5:00 p.m. PST, Timberley Gray will select two winners. Each winner will receive 1 (one) Game Ledger book accompanied by 1 (one) $25.00 Amazon Gift card. Total value: $33.99

Laura is a wife, a homeschooling mom of 7, and an Episcopal priest. As early as middle school she knew she wanted to be actively involved in the church because it was, as she put it, “where I was loved unconditionally.” Laura’s deepest desire is to help people know that God’s love for them is unconditional and beyond measure. Whatever chaos might be swirling in your life right now, God is still with you, He still loves you, He still calls you His beloved child.
